Every year WesleyCare Chaplain Natasha holds a special service of remembrance in the WesleyCare Chapel for the families of those residents who have passed on in the last year.
"Our service is a time for WesleyCare to acknowledge the loss of a resident from our community and more importantly, acknowledging that it is their family who miss them most and their ongoing grief journey," says Natasha. "It is hoped that family members will find peace within the service and in the chapel setting. The words and music of this service is designed to give thanks for our missed loved ones, what they have given us and the gap they have left in our lives."
"During the service there is a time when we can light a candle for our loved one as a symbol of their light shines on in our lives and the light of hope in the midst of our grief. This seemingly small action is deeply meaningful for those who are missing their loved one, even our current residents appreciate the opportunity to remember their loved ones too. The legacy of our loved ones lives on in the relationships they had with us their loved ones and the impact they have had on our lives – “gone from our sight, not from our hearts.”
